The following text has been copied from a Facebook post on my personal profile that has now been set to private. It is part of a series of posts providing details about the first part of my daughter’s fight with Transverse Myelitis.
P R A I S E R E P O R T T I M E !
Annadelle has now been weened off the high flow oxygen and is using a regular nasal canula, meaning we would be discharged from the PICU as early as tomorrow!!! I had asked about a week ago how long we would stay on the children’s floor once we were released from the PICU and it is my understanding that is could only be a few days (long enough to get a plan for ongoing PT/OT/ST and make sure she continues to improve). We are praying her lungs get stronger and we continue to see increased movement so that we can return to our normal life in Orange Beach.
The last two days of PT Annadelle has been “standing” up (we hold her up while she tries to put pressure on her feet). She complains of pain in her left foot and hip due to the lack of activity on that side of her body. We are praying that improves so that she can walk again.
We are so ready to go home and see our fur babies (and family)! Please continue to pray for our family in the upcoming weeks and months.
