The following text has been copied from a Facebook post on my personal profile that has now been set to private. It is part of a series of posts providing details about the first part of my daughter’s fight with Transverse Myelitis.
My sweet girl had a rough night. Today marks one month in the hospital, and I can tell you our girl is soooooo over it.
While the air on her belly has slowed down a bit, the pain in her spine has returned. She has been on a fentanyl drip for a while and they have been weening her off of it, so Dr. Merritt thinks the pain could be from the lower fentanyl.
The plan is still to remove the tube tomorrow morning. We are praying she does well off the tube and does not have to be intubated again. Please join me in praying fervently for this!
Today being Halloween, Annadelle was excited to put on her Princess Anna costume. Nurse Christy got her a bag of candy to hand out to trick-or-treaters (all the unit nurses and doctors). She also got a bag for herself.
Below is a photo of Annadelle with Nurse Kelsey dressed as Poppy from Trolls. Kelsey is set to graduate as a NP in December and will be working in Foley under Dr. Reed. We intend to be one of her patients once we leave because we just love her. She is our favorite day shift nurse and Christy is our favorite night shift nurse.
Many thanks for all the prayers for our baby girl. We do ask that those prayers continue as we still have a long road to go.
